Big Ideas for Teachers |

Big Ideas has assisted over
450 teachers by providing them with additional
learning opportunities.
An exciting initiative is
the Stepping Up to Creativity
programme, specifically designed for secondary schools teachers and assistants in the Tyne and Wear area; it provides participants
with innovative tools and techniques to help stimulate
creative thinking in the classroom environment.
The programme consists of several workshops, packed

Over 4000 youngsters have
benefited from Big Ideas projects
Big Ideas plays a key role
in delivering the Post-16 Gear Up initiative,
organised by Tyne and Wear Education Business
Link Organisation (TWEBLO), which aims to educate
young people about the world of work. The
Big Ideas team delivers workshops to encourage
potential entrepreneurs and innovators to push
the bounds of their imagination and develop their
own business ideas.

Building upon an impressive
track record of fostering enterprise and innovation,
Big Ideas continues to be at the forefront of
several key regional projects, including the Spirit
of Innovation Awards. A project established
to reward innovative ideas which may achieve,
or have already achieved, commercial success in
the business world, whilst offering encouragement
to innovators of the future.

In order to increase innovation
and enterprise in the local business community,
Big Ideas supports both public and private sector
companies. One such example is the Stimulating
Innovation programme, which consists of three
innovative workshops specifically designed to
nurture, develop and inspire creativity in the
workplace.

The future is looking extremely
bright for Big Ideas, having recently secured
several prestigious contracts including delivering
an ICT Youth Challenge initiative, funded by NESTA,
to young people in the North East
