What We Do
A North East Business & Innovation Centre project, Big Ideas was launched in 2003 and has been developed to help stimulate innovation and enterprise within young people, individuals and existing businesses. We do this through a range of programmes designed specifically to drive innovation and enhance links between educational establishments and businesses.
At Big Ideas we believe passionately in the power of ideas… inspiring ideas, fun ideas, wicked ideas, funny ideas, cool ideas, exciting ideas. Ideas are our lifeblood they inspire, stimulate, develop and nurture our creative thinking.
In today’s world nothing is impossible… ground breaking ideas can come from anyone and anywhere.
Big Ideas has helped over 4000 youngsters progress their innovative ideas and has also provided learning opportunities for over 400 teachers with support from One North East, the Tyne & Wear Partnership, the Learning & Skills Council, Tyne & Wear Education Business Link Organisation (TWEBLO) and Sunderland Software City.
Big Ideas also runs the Big Ideas Youth Challenge, a competition designed to inspire the entrepreneurs of tomorrow by providing a unique opportunity for young people to develop and nurture their innovative ICT ideas in a fun and stimulating environment.
